Our Unique Process

Understanding the role of chiropractic care

Working to support your bodies innate ability to be well and thrive

Supporting your central nervous system

Strengthening the vagus nerve with chiropractic care

Your child’s day to day lives can often be hectic and overwhelming. The impact of this stress comes from all directions – school, homework, sports, social media and peer relationships. This leaves their nervous system feeling stuck – in a state of survival mode. It’s like the gas pedal is perpetually stuck ‘on’.

When your child’s body is in this state of stress, it can’t activate its natural state of rest and restoration which is essential to development, growth and general wellbeing.

Neurologically-focused care

If your child is struggling, neurologically focused chiropractic care could be the answer.

Gentle neurological adjustments can help restore the balance of your child’s nervous system by removing the stress patterns that could otherwise impede their natural ability to heal, grow and develop. It’s like giving your child’s system a complete reboot so they can function with more ease, calm and confidence.

Initial contact

Make contact with the clinic to chat through the issues you’re family is facing.

This gives us both an opportunity to assess whether Chiropractic care is the right course of action.

Many clients report that they feel excited and confident about care, because it’s the first time they’ve actually felt heard and found answers as to why they or their child is struggling in the first place
We strongly recommend you attend a “Our Kid’s Aren’t Broken” workshop that suits you to ensure this is the right fit for your whanau.

Initial Consultation

Right away you’ll notice a big difference from other practitioners, our team will dive deep into your or your child’s case history unlike any other professional out there, really listening and taking the time to find the root causes of your/ your child’s health challenges. We will also conduct your Insight scans to assess the current state of your nervous system accurately. This identifies areas where the pathways are stuck (subluxation), how much stress they are currently under and highlights the areas for improvement through dedicated chiropractic care. This consultation takes approx. 45 minutes and is valued at $149

Report of Findings

This is the visit where we get to answer every single one of your questions and concerns! At your Report of Findings, we discuss your results and how we can best serve you and your goals. We will discuss your scan results and talk you through your restoration care plan designed to restore you to where you want to be. This consultation takes approx. 30 minutes. There is no charge for this consult, however, the first payment for ongoing care will be made if you choose to begin the suggested care.

Regular Appointments

These appointments are where you meet with your doctor for regular adjustments in line with your restoration care plan. This will typically include gentle adjustments designed to improve your neurological function. These adjustments are targeted to areas that have been identified as subluxated through your Insight scans. We know that some people will be a little nervous for their first chiropractic adjustment, but for most people they are immediately put at ease by how gentle neurologically- focused family chiropractic care is. Ongoing care appointments are approx. 10 minutes.

Progress Reviews

We will meet with you to review your progress approx. once per month. In these reviews we will reassess your nervous system through our Insight neurological scans.

By monitoring your progress throughout your care, we can ensure we are on track to achieve your health goals and provides us with an opportunity to adapt and evolve where needed. We pride ourselves on getting you where you want to be and progress exams confirm we are on the right track!

what to expect

Restorative chiropractic care is normally carried out over a period of 4-6 months depending on your scan results and the outcomes we are working to achieve. During this time, you can expect to visit us in clinic 3 times per week.

ongoing costs of care

As with any unique care, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. That’s why each patient has a unique care plan tailored to their scan results and goals. Because of this, the price of ongoing care is based on how many visits are needed over the course of the restorative care plan. You can expect adjustments approx. 3 x per week initially.

The financial investment for ongoing care will be outlined at the second appointment with your doctor. During this time we will discuss in detail the tailored Care Plan we have developed to address your specific health and well-being goals.

We offer a variety of payment plans to make care as accessible and affordable as possible – with family plans available.

At the conclusion of the restorative care period, most patients move to a Wellness Care Plan which consists of 1 x adjustment per week and regular progress scans to maintain your results and continue momentum forward.

Why don’t we do adjustments at the initial exam?

Our style of chiropractic care is neurologically focused, aimed at the root cause and is not a band-aid/quick fix. This approach allows us time to review your case and make sure we have the full picture to provide you with the best care possible.

Following your structured care plan gives you the best possible chance of making a long term change and maintaining your results long-term. We won’t start care unless we have a commitment from you to work together on achieving your goals.

Please note: The above also applies to reactivation consultations.

Is Eden Health ACC Registered?

Yes! ACC coverage only covers acute injury care and will only provide support for a short term of cover. With our neuroscience-based approach, our experience has shown us short term care isn’t long enough to make significant or lasting changes to your ongoing health and well-being, however we can use that subsidy where it is appropriate!

When patients expect a result from us, we expect commitment from them which means following their entire plan the best they can which will yield the best results.

We offer payment plans to make care accessible and affordable.

Why are your care plans so intensive?

The brain learns through repetition over time. Just like learning a language, sport, instrument or habit – you need to repeat the input over time for it to become a natural response.

Symptomatic changes often happen quite quickly but they may not be stabilised, and you might be prone to swings and relapses.

Individual symptoms are also not a great indicator of health and/or function. We are targeting the root cause of a person’s health challenges which will involve improving a person’s nervous system function to make a lasting change. Function determines outcome and our Insight scans measure function – so all plans are based on scan findings rather than subjective reports of symptoms.

The thing that makes the most change is not an ADJUSTMENT (singular), but ADJUSTMENTS (plural) over time. Repetitive input teaches the brain a new way of operating – most often when people don’t get results they’re after its because their plan was too small – especially when dealing with multiple challenges – these cases need more care than traditionally given. To put it simply you can’t change YEARS of stress in a just few weeks.

Why do I need to come multiple times within a week?

Just like learning an instrument, you need practice and input. (That’s the reason for the frequency of adjustments). Much like if you only workout 1 x per week you won’t see results.

In most cases subluxation has MOMENTUM – so frequency of input is vital to disrupt that momentum and get our own momentum in the opposite direction. Waiting over a week can lose the benefits of the last 2-3 adjustments. Those who follow their detailed care plan get the best results.

More complicated and/or special needs cases may require more care – sometimes even daily or multiple times per day to get the ball rolling.
